ERNiCrCo-4 Product Description
Material Type: This exceptional superalloy, a unique blend of Nickel, Chromium, Cobalt, and Molybdenum, is engineered for high performance.
AWS Specification: Meets the stringent standards of AWS A5.14, ensuring quality and reliability.
Key Characteristics
1. Chemical Composition (Typical):
Nickel (Ni): The foundational element, present in abundance (≥50%), forming the backbone of the alloy.
Chromium (Cr): Constituting 20-23%, this element significantly boosts oxidation resistance, ensuring durability in harsh conditions.
Cobalt (Co): Adding a critical 10-15%, it enhances stability at elevated temperatures, ensuring performance is maintained even in challenging environments.
Molybdenum (Mo): Ranging from 8-10%, it provides robust resistance against localized corrosion.
Iron (Fe): Kept minimal at ≤5%, ensuring the integrity and quality of the alloy.
This alloy excels in resisting pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in environments loaded with acids, alkalines, and chlorides, typical of marine and chemical processing industries.
Mechanical Strength:
With a high tensile strength of ≥750 MPa, it offers exceptional creep resistance under continuous high-temperature stress, making it ideal for demanding applications.
Weldability:
Widely compatible with GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and SMAW processes, ensuring versatile application in various welding needs.
The low carbon content minimizes post-weld cracking, enhancing the reliability of welded structures.
Product Forms & Specifications
Available Forms:
Welding consumables come in wire form (0.8-4.0 mm diameter) and electrodes, offering flexibility for different welding requirements.
Mill products are available as round bars, sheets, plates, and coils, catering to diverse industrial needs.
Standards: Adhering to ASTM B574 and AMS 5826 when applicable, ensuring compliance and performance.
Packaging: Our welding wires are sealed in moisture-proof packaging, while bulk materials are crated as per standard practices, safeguarding product quality.
Applications
Aerospace: Ideally suited for components like combustion chambers, turbine blades, and exhaust systems, where performance at high altitudes is crucial.
Energy: Perfectly fits in *** core components and heat exchangers, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Oil & Gas: Essential for downhole tools, valves, and piping, especially in sour gas environments.
Chemical Processing: Resilient in reactors, scrubbers, and piping handling aggressive substances like sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and seawater.
Processing & Fabrication
Machining: Utilize carbide tools with low cutting speeds and ample coolant to maintain precision and tool longevity.
Heat Treatment: Conduct solution annealing at 1120-1175°C followed by rapid quenching to enhance material properties.
Welding Notes:
Preheating is not necessary for thin sections, streamlining the welding process.
Post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) is optional but recommended for critical applications to ensure optimal performance.

Notes
1. Cobalt (Co) Role: Enhances high-temperature strength and minimizes thermal expansion, making ERNiCrCo-4 suitable for extreme environments with ultra-high temperatures.
2. Verification Required: Always confirm the exact composition and certification, such as EN, UNS, or proprietary grades, with suppliers to ensure compliance and suitability.
3. Alternatives: In cases of unavailability, ERNiCrMo-4 (AWS A5.14 ERNiCrMo-4) or Inconel 617 (Ni-Cr-Co-Mo) can serve as effective substitutes.
