Its remarkable weldability makes it a top choice for demanding applications.
1.Basic Specifications & Composition
Standards Compliance:
AWS A5.14: ERNiCr-3
DIN: SG-NiCr20Nb (Werkstoff Nr. 2.4806)
ISO/BS: SNi6082 / NiCr20Mn3Nb.
Chemical Composition:
Element Content (%) Role
Ni (+Co) ≥67.0 (72.9 typical) This base metal ensures superior corrosion resistance, setting the foundation for robust and long-lasting welds.
Cr 18.0-22.0 This element is key for enhancing oxidation resistance, protecting your welds in challenging environments.
Nb (+Ta) 2.0-3.0 Crucial for preventing intergranular corrosion, it stabilizes carbides for unmatched durability.
Mn 2.5-3.5 Boosts toughness and significantly reduces the risk of hot cracking, ensuring reliable welds.
Fe ≤3.0 Tight impurity control to maintain the integrity of the weld.
C ≤0.10 Minimizes the risk of carbide precipitation, safeguarding the weld's structure.
S/P ≤0.015/≤0.030 This reduces brittleness, providing a resilient and flexible weld.
2. Key Properties
Mechanical Performance:
Tensile Strength: ≥552 MPa (80,000 psi) This robust strength ensures the weld withstands high-stress applications.
Elongation: ≥30% (4d) . Offers significant flexibility, accommodating structural shifts without cracking.
High-Temperature Capabilities:
Operating Range: -196°C to +550°C (pressure vessels); Capable of maintaining performance in extreme temperatures. Oxidation resistance up to 1200°C (sulfur-free environments) Ensures longevity even in high-heat, sulfur-free settings.
Creep Rupture Strength: Exceptional strength under sustained thermal stress, ideal for long-term, high-temperature use.
Corrosion Resistance:
Outstanding resistance to oxidation, stress corrosion cracking, and pitting in harsh acids like sulfuric and phosphoric, as well as urea environments.
