Product Description

ER 316L

Stainless steel continuous & cut length solid welding wire, expertly crafted for superior MIG/TIG welding performance.
CLASSIFICATION : AWS/SFA-5.9: ER316L, EN 12072 19 12 3 L
DIN 8556: WK. 1.4430

CHARACTERISTICS :ER316L is an austenitic stainless steel welding wire, boasting a low carbon content with 18% Chromium, 12% Nickel, and 2% Molybdenum. This remarkable alloy offers a weld metal with ferrite, known for its remarkable crack resistance. The low carbon aids in stabilizing the austenitic arc and significantly enhances corrosion resistance, including against intergranular types. Additionally, the mechanical properties of the weld metal are exceptional, promising durability and reliability.
APPLICATION : The ER 316L, a molybdenum-enhanced grade, is perfect for MIG, TIG, and SA welding of comparable stainless steels. Molybdenum dramatically enhances pitting corrosion resistance, especially in chloride-rich environments, while low carbon improves intergranular corrosion resistance. It is ideal for welding SS 316L, SS 318 grades, and the weld metal withstands high temperatures up to 350°C, ensuring long-lasting performance.
SHIELDING GAS : For optimal results, utilize welding with 100% Argon gas or a mixture of Argon with 2% Oxygen gas.
