ERNiCrCo-4 Product Description
Material Type: Nickel-Chromium-Cobalt-Molybdenum Superalloy
AWS Specification: AWS A5.14
Key Characteristics
1. Chemical Composition (Typical):
Nickel (Ni): Base element (≥50%)
Chromium (Cr): 20-23% (enhances oxidation resistance)
Cobalt (Co): 10-15% (improves high-temperature stability)
Molybdenum (Mo): 8-10% (resists localized corrosion)
Iron (Fe): ≤5%

Resists pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in acidic, alkaline, and chloride-rich environments such as marine and chemical processing scenarios.
Mechanical Strength:
Exhibits high tensile strength (≥750 MPa) and offers excellent creep resistance, ensuring durability under prolonged high-temperature stress.
Weldability:
Compatible with GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and SMAW processes, providing versatile welding solutions.
Minimal post-weld cracking due to low carbon content, ensuring structural integrity.
Product Forms & Specifications
Available Forms:
Welding consumables: Wire available in diameters of 0.8-4.0 mm and electrodes.
Mill products: Includes round bars, sheets, plates, and coils for various applications.
Standards: Conforms to ASTM B574 and AMS 5826 standards if applicable.
Packaging: Welding wires come in sealed moisture-proof packaging; bulk materials are securely packed in standard crates.
Applications
Aerospace: Ideal for use in combustion chambers, turbine blades, and exhaust systems.
Energy: Suitable for *** core components and heat exchangers.
Oil & Gas: Perfect for downhole tools, valves, and piping in sour gas environments.
Chemical Processing: Used in reactors, scrubbers, and piping for sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and seawater.
Processing & Fabrication
Machining: Employ carbide tools with low cutting speeds and adequate coolant for precision.
Heat Treatment: Perform solution annealing at temperatures of 1120-1175°C followed by rapid quenching.
Welding Notes:
Preheat unnecessary for thin sections, simplifying the welding process.
Post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) is optional for critical applications to enhance performance.

Notes
1. Cobalt (Co) Role: Cobalt significantly enhances high-temperature strength and reduces thermal expansion, making ERNiCrCo-4 ideal for ultra-high-temperature environments.
2. Verification Required: Always confirm the exact composition and certification (e.g., EN, UNS, or proprietary grades) with suppliers to ensure compatibility.
3. Alternatives: If unavailable, ERNiCrMo-4 (AWS A5.14 ERNiCrMo-4) or Inconel 617 (Ni-Cr-Co-Mo) can be considered as substitutes.
