Chemical Composition:
Nickel (Ni): An impressive ≥50%
Chromium (Cr): Within a robust 14.5-16.5%
Molybdenum (Mo): A strong presence of 15-17%
Tungsten (W): Concentration between 3.0-4.5%
Iron (Fe): Range of 4.0-7.0%
Notably low impurities (C ≤ 0.02%, S ≤ 0.015%, P ≤ 0.02%) .
Standards Compliance: Meets AWS A5.14 (welding wire), AWS A5.11 (covered electrode) standards.

Density: A substantial 8.9 g/cm³
Melting Range: A reliable 1,325-1,370°C .
Mechanical Properties:
Tensile Strength: At least 690 MPa
Yield Strength: A minimum of 400 MPa
Elongation: At least 22%, with typical values reaching 720 MPa tensile, 560 MPa yield, and a remarkable 40% elongation .
Metallurgical Structure: Exhibits a face-centered cubic (FCC) austenitic matrix .
3. Key Applications
Primary Use: Optimized for welding Hastelloy C-276 and other similar Ni-Cr-Mo alloys 36.
Dissimilar Metal Joining:
Nickel alloys ↔ Stainless steel/low-alloy steel
Nickel alloys ↔ Carbon steel .
Cladding & Repair: Ideal for surface overlay on steel to enhance its corrosion resistance .
Industries Served: Chemical processing, oil and gas, aerospace, flue gas desulfurization (FGD), and cryogenic services, including extreme conditions like -196°C.
4. Welding Process Guidelines
Methods: Supports TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and SMAW (for ENiCrMo-4 variant) techniques.
Critical Parameters:
Preheat Requirements: Electrodes baked at 350°C for 1 hour following low-hydrogen practice.
Gas Shielding: Utilizes argon of ≥99.99% purity; flow rate maintained at 10-15 L/min.
Current Specifications: DC+ polarity; 70-140 A, adjustable based on diameter.
Essential Practices:
Clean base metal thoroughly (remove rust, oil, and moisture).
Control heat input and interpass temperature to prevent cracking.
