Product Description

ER316L

Stainless Steel Continuous & Cut Length Solid Welding Wire for Superior MIG/TIG Applications
CLASSIFICATION : AWS/SFA-5.9: ER316L, EN 12072 19 12 3 L
DIN 8556: WK. 1.4430

CHARACTERISTICS :ER316L is an austenitic stainless steel, low-carbon welding wire composed of 18% Chromium, 12% Nickel, and 2% Molybdenum. The weld metal's inclusion of ferrite ensures superior resistance to cracking. The low carbon content not only stabilizes the austenitic arc but also significantly enhances corrosion resistance, particularly against intergranular corrosion. Furthermore, it boasts commendable mechanical properties, making it an ideal choice for various applications.
APPLICATION : ER316L is a molybdenum-enhanced grade, expertly crafted for MIG, TIG, and SA welding of similar stainless steel types. This attribute dramatically boosts its resistance to pitting corrosion, especially in chloride-rich environments. Its low carbon content further bolsters its defense against intergranular corrosion. Perfect for welding SS 316L and SS 318 grades, the weld metal is adeptly suited for high-temperature applications, maintaining performance up to 350°C.
SHIELDING GAS : Compatible with welding using 100% Argon gas or an Argon + 2% Oxygen mixture.
